There's science behind every move

CogniMoves® is built on decades of peer-reviewed research at the intersection of neuroscience and education.

Executive Function

Executive function skills are the brain's air traffic control system, governing attention, working memory, inhibitory control, cognitive flexibility, and self-regulation.
These are the skills that allow students to strengthen:

Staying on Task

Follow Directions

Taking Turns

Adapt to New Challenges

Manage Frustration

Without strong executive function skills, students face a higher risk of repeated difficulties in reading, math, and science throughout their elementary education1.

Why It Matters

These skills predict more than grades

Research shows that stronger executive function skills predict fewer social and behavioral problems, stronger peer relationships, and greater success across a lifetime2.

How CogniMoves® Works

CogniMoves® Strengthens Executive Function

CogniMoves combines movement, cognition, music, and intentional repetition to strengthen the neural pathways associated with executive function. Students from Pre-K to 3rd grade follow developmentally appropriate animated videos in time to a musical beat.

Every video session trains kids to spot a pattern, predict what's next, and act on it — the same core skills behind reading, math, and self-control. When students master a pattern, the complexity increases, continuously challenging and developing their executive function skills.

RIGOROUSLY MEASURED OUTCOMES

A validated measure of cognitive growth

Executive function outcomes were assessed using the DCCS, a standardized card-sort task validated in developmental psychology research. Students who used CogniMoves show a 2x improvement over control-group performance.
